New York: Where you should eat!

There’s no lack of hints for dining out in New York online. Actually you can eat literally everywhere in New York and there are offers for all budgets.

In the following we want to share our experiences. We were eating out in known and unknown places. It’s hard to say what was best, because all were different and good in its own way.

1. Star on 18

A classic American diner near Highline Park. Unspectecular, ordinary people and very delicious.

Huge tasty burgers + lots of fries + drink + very cheap = perfect!

2. Gramercy Cafe

Near Union Square and near our hotel. That’s why we had breakfast here every morning.

Great servings, tasty and low prices. The latino staff was amazing. If we lived in New York, this would be our favorite place. We weren’t the only ones to think so. Every morning we saw the same people. On weekend it was really crowded.

Gramercy Café – definitely worth a recommendation!

3. Gray’s Papaya

It was mentioned in many films and TV series and the New York Times praised it to the skies.

We really liked the Hot Dogs. But best was the amazing Papaya Drink. We never had drunk such a good papaya juice before. Great prices are a reason to come back, too.

4. Burger Joint

You don’t see it from the street, as this ‚shabby‘ place is inside the lobby of the ‚LeParker Meridien‘ hotel. OK, it’s only shabby compared to this five star hotel.

We couldn’t resist trying the ‘best burger in town’, as it is often referred to. Expectations were high. Pictures of stars like Heidi Klum, who came here, are pinned to the wall.

Well, it was very tasty but also a bit expensive. It is hard to decide if it is really the best in town. But definitely worth a a visit. We continue to search – someday we’re gonna find the best burger in the world.

5. The Halal Guys

We would love to have eaten here. But the queue was endless. Do it, wait for it. It smelled fantastic and the people looked really happy.

6. Chinatown: Name unknown

I took a picture of this kitschy window. You shouldn’t bother. Food was delicious and many Chinese were eating here.

7. Magnolia Bakery

A bit expensive? But hey, Yes They Can! Since Sex and the City, this store is a must do on every New York trip. You should definitely try his dessert.
