Sunflower field, Provence, France

While planning our wedding, we’re thinking about honeymoon destinations, too. When our parents heard about it, they were just like ‘You’re honeymooning all the time’. Well, why not!

For a beautiful honeymoon, you don’t have to leave Europe. Many people think the farther the better. But there are also many people, who really don’t enjoy spending much time in the air.

Those and people outside of Europe should have a look at this list now. Romance radar is going crazy at these places. The following destinations were tested by us personally. Our focus lied on Italy and France, Europe’s romance experts.

Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Amalfi Coast, Italy

Italy’s dreamiest coast line. At least in our opinion. Here you can enjoy Italian kitchen, make trips to my favourite island Capri or just lie on the beach. Amalfi, Ravello, Positano – the Big Three of the Amalfi Coast won’t disappoint you and make you dream a long time after you already returned.

Pont du Gard, Provence, France

Provence, France

Provence has it all: Good wines, different kinds of landscapes, adorable villages and great cities. You won’t forget a summer in Provence. You can combine a trip here with the Côte d’Azur.

Petit Venise, Colmar, Alsace, France

Alsace, France

Colourful half-timbered houses, Cremant d’Alsace Rosé, delicious food and very interesting people. It’s calm and perfect for couples. It doesn’t matter if you like the small or the big towns – from Riquewihr to Colmar to Strasbourg – there’s something for everybody.

Capo Testa, Sardinia, Italy

Sardinia, Italy

You want to be in the Caribbean, but including Italian food and don’t want to fly to long? Sardinia is perfect for Europeans. Try to avoid the time around Ferragosto (mid of August) and take your time to find the right beach for you. You’ll never want to leave.

Sacre-Coeur, Montmatre, Paris, France

Paris, France

There’s not much to say about this one. Paris works any time at any season. Paris is always beautiful. For many decades, this city is a desire destination for many people around the world. And everyone who’s already been there knows why. Je t’aime Paris!

Siena, Tuscany, Italy

Tuscany, Italy

No matter if you focus on Florence or plan a trip along the Chianti region, stay in a fancy hotel or in a classy winery – just do it. Tuscany is one of the most romantic places on this planet. It’s no secret this is a very popular honeymoon destinations.

Ponta da Piedade, Algarve, Portugal

Algarve, Portugal

Portugal’s beaches are overwhelmingly beautiful and they’re totally different to other coasts in Europe. We would definitely recommend a trip to the Algarve. Good fish dishes, delicious wine, great beaches and a very relaxed atmosphere have convinced us totally.

Sylt, Germany

Sylt, Germany

For those, who love the wild. Sylt has an amazing surreal landscape. Most people outside of Germany don’t really know this little island. In Germany it’s known as rich people’s island. This shouldn’t scare you. A beautiful sunset over the dunes and the wild sea didn’t hurt anyone. And the bread rolls with fish were so delicious.

Brela Rock, Punta Rata Beach, Croatia

Makarska Riviera, Croatia

Croatia is a very popular destination for people worldwide. In June you can have this place at least partly to yourself. The sea is crystal clear and really clean. The restaurants at the port of Baska Voda offer great food and the sunsets are really beautiful.

Venice, Italy

Venice, Italy

Just like Paris, Venice is an all time classic. Imagine yourself eating gelato with your favourite person while walking along the canals of this beauty of a city. Laughing at other people getting caught by pigeons or paying the ridiculous prices of the gondoliere.

Of course, you have to see the St. Marks Square, but you should leave it quickly. The beauty of Venice lies in the alleys with its picturesque canals. We have to admit the gondoliers are perfect for pictures. Venice is known to have some of the most romantic hotels.
