Where to eat and drink in Santorini!

Oía, Santorini, Greece

The headline says it all, we want to recommend to you some restaurants and bars. As you can imagine we had the pleasure to enjoy some really good food on Santorini. Here we go with some tips for your future Santorini trip.

Xenones Filotera, Santorini, Greece

Xenones Filotera in Imerovigli

It’s slightly expensive but the food is just delicious. It’s as delicious as it looks amazing.

Furthermore, it’s a really quiet place at the beginning of the season if you’re searching for sunset dinner. Just see the pics and believe us!

Oía, Santorini, Greece

Pitogyros in Oía

This one’s not really a restaurant. More like your favourite snack shop. It’s close to but outside of Oìa’s tourist buzz. The Souvlaki, as well as the classic kebab, were really good.

Oía, Santorini, Greece

They’re really generous with portions they put on the plate and the staff seem to be really cool. We can totally recommend this one if you’re searching for something tasty and favourable. Especially here in Oía, you usually rather pay for the view than for good food.

Hungry Donkey, Oía, Santorini, Greece

Hungry Donkey in Oía

For those of you with a sweet tooth: go to the ‘Hungry Donkey’. They have really good Crepes. After the huge souvlaki/gyros food, only one of our group felt like eating one of these delicious looking crepes. And he was very happy with it.

Most importantly, we love the name so that’s why we have to put this place on the list anyway.

Taverna Giorgarios, Akrotiri, Santorini, Greece

Taverna Giorgarios in Akrotiri

The food here is incredibly delicious and portions are huge. Luckily we decided to share the platters you see on the pictures. I couldn’t have finished one on my own. Especially the octopus was outstanding.

Additionally, prices were more than affordable and the view was amazing. How is this possible on Santorini? Just drive south to Pharos Lighthouse. You’ll find many taverns for Greek prices on your way.

Mythos Grill House, Pyrgos, Santorini, Greece

Mythos Grill House in Pyrgos

The restaurant looks totally cute and the food was, of course, delicious. The owner and the service staff were super nice and were happy about anyone coming to Pyrgos, at least in the beginning of May.

I think they don’t have those problems in peak season.

Mezzo, Imerovigli, Santorini, Greece

Mezzo in Imerovigli

This restaurant is located in the heart of Imerovigli. If you wanted to eat during sunset time, you should better make a reservation in advance.

The food tastes and looks fantastic. It’s a bit pricier than in the south-west part of the island. But it was okay for Imerovigli. And: watching the sunset from here was also okay.

Cafés/bars

Melenio Café, Oía, Santorini, Greece

Melenio Café in Oía

The view is amazing and prices are decent. The staff are really friendly. Unfortunately, we discovered all the sweets inside the café way too late. They looked fantastic. Try them and then tell us what we missed. We love to hear from you!

Oía, Santorini, Greece

Pelekanos in Oía

We can’t tell much about the food. The view from the terrace is amazing and prices for the drinks are affordable. We watched other guests and they really seemed to like their food. Or maybe it was just them being happy about being in Oìa.

Winery

Santo Wines Winery

And again Santo Wines Winery. Yes, we loved that place. I can’t repeat it often enough. You’ll find me here on any Santorini trip (hopefully this is going to happen again, soon). The atmosphere is amazing and the wines are good, too. It’s the perfect combination.
